About

How the outfit guides are built, and how this site pays for itself.

Festival Style Guide answers one question, for as many festivals as we can cover: what should you actually wear?

How the guides are built

Every one of the 259 festivals in the database carries the same attributes: the month it runs, typical daytime and night-time temperatures, rain risk, what the ground is made of, whether there is camping, how big the crowd is, and the style tags that describe what people wear there. The outfit rankings are generated from those attributes, which is why a rain-proof look ranks above a mesh bodysuit at a wet British field, and the reverse in a Nevada car park.

What the numbers mean

Temperatures are typical averages for the festival month at that location, not forecasts. Capacities are approximate and change per edition. Dates are announced by organisers each year. Always check the official site before booking.

How we make money

Through affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking through, the retailer pays us a commission and you pay the same price you would have paid anyway. Nobody pays to be included in a look.

Corrections

Spotted something wrong. A moved festival, a changed bag policy, a temperature that is nowhere near reality? Tell us at contact and we will fix it.
